International Jazz Day 2014

Friday, June 6, 2014

On April 30th 2014, the 3rd annual International Jazz Day events took place all over the world. While the main celebrations were taking place this year in Osaka, there were multiple events in various cities worldwide. In Copenhagen, my friend Niels Lan Doky was hosting a full day of content at his club, The Standard. Along with performances there was also a panel discussing a variety of different jazz-related subjects. Niels asked me if I would contribute a talk via video to be shown as part of the panel. So I sat down in-front of my camera and shared a few thoughts with you.

I decided today to upload the video to my YouTube channel for those who either missed the live stream or did not know this was happening. So feel free to watch and then share your opinions on what I had to say. This is the first time that I have ever publicly shared my opinions on the state of jazz today and I know that there are many people who will probably disagree with me. Either way, give it a watch and let me know your thoughts.

Eventually I will be posting more on that channel so be sure to subscribe to be notified whenever I upload new content. It will be very different every time so make sure you don't miss out.

Happy Friday and have a great weekend!
